Firearms Safety and Basics of Shooting

Understanding the basic principles of firearms safety can prevent accidents. We cover the Four Basic Rules of Firearms Safety, the mechanics of firearms, loading and unloading revolvers and pistols, grip, stances, and shooting.  Whether you are new to firearms or just refreshing your basic skills, the information in this course will teach you how to operate a firearm safely and get on target!

NRA Blended Pistol Plus MS Enhanced Firearms Permit

ONLINE/IN-PERSON COURSE

Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

This course will guide you through the basics of handling firearms safely, how to safely store your firearms, examples on how to carry them for protection, learning the laws that apply, what to do if you have an encounter with law enforcement, and the application process for getting your permit.

Concealed Carry Instruction

There is a lot more to carrying a concealed firearm for self defense than just putting it on. It is a lifestyle change. We will cover how to carry, where to carry, how to make sure you are really carrying concealed, wardrobe choices, how to avoid possibly deadly situations, creating time and distance during a conflict, how to quickly and effectively deploy your firearm, and how to protect it if necessary.

From developing an Emergency Operations Plan to training volunteers, we aim to equip church leaders with the knowledge they need to protect their members and enhance their overall sense of security.
